Every news channel asks it’s viewers to trust the content it broadcasts. However, with the rise of fake news it becomes hard to determine what is real and what is fiction. In order to challenge this phenomenon we created a dystopic and absurd scenario to the daily news we consume.
The news channel we created combines performance and live streaming while using scaled models as tools and hands as players.
The scaled models are fragile objects built from paper. It can be demolished and re-built in order to recreate the perfect image. The hands are players which are choreographed with exaggerated gestures from daily news. Together they create a fake dystopic image which is constructed from reality.

This project was part of a mashed up media and design studio at the salone del mobile at palazzo clerici in Milan city center, Created by Design Academy Eindhoven students and alumni. The program analyzed the role and symbolic relationship design plays in contemporary media, we were asked to create the news channel.
